Ilan Waldman is an emerging Producer,

Director, Cinematographer and editor born

in Mexico City.


Ilan Coming to Canada

He has made Toronto, Canada his home

since 2003 and it’s here where he received

a degree from the Ryerson School of

Image Arts in Film.


Bachelor of Fine Arts, Film, Ryerson University

Ilan was one of the few who received early

acceptance into the renowned FIlm program 

at the Ryerson School for Image Arts. In his 

final year, Ilan's thesis film was chosen by 

the board and went on to premiere in Portland, 

Oregon before securing distribution.


Broadcasting at 21

Ilan landed the chance to direct and produce two

separate seasons of Spanish talk shows both of

which aired on Telelatino Network in Canada.


Working with Olympians

Ilan collaborated with New Republic Design House

to create all kinds of content like training videos,

online handbooks, marketing and documentary

coverage for Major Canadian sports

organizations such as AthletesCAN


Toronto Pan and Para Pan Am Games

Ilan’s work for CIBC Team Next during the

Pan-am and Parapan-am Games was transformed

into an installation at Pearson International Airport

where pre-recorded videos of athletes would

welcome travellers to Toronto for the games.


Capturing the Stories of Survivors

Ilan is very passionate about human rights and because of this

he has been the go-to director of photography for

human rights activist, documentarian and

photojournalist Susan G. Enberg. His production

team, known to the community as the

DocFilmWarriors, has been documenting the

experiences of survivors of St. Anne's Residential

School, historically located in Ft. Albany First

Nation, where systemic and systematic abuses of

children were carried out.


First in the World to Capture the Home of Lennox Lewis

Ilan was the first cinematographer in the world

to be allowed inside the home of heavyweight

champion Lennox Lewis. There he captured an in

depth look at Lewis’ home atop Montego Bay,

Jamaica.  He also did a sit down interview with

Lewis and the owner of HOSS Magazine a few

hours before being invited back for the boxing

champion's birthday party.


Toronto Wolfpack North American Tryout Tour

Ilan was the Director of Photography for a segment

in the reality series The Last Tackle: Toronto

Wolfpack’s Tryout North American Tour. He

traveled for 3 months across the US, Canada and Jamaica.


The Toronto Santa Claus Parade

Ilan Waldman Film Inc. was named the official video

provider and sponsor for the Toronto Santa Claus

Parade and Believe to Achieve Organization
